Non-Traditional Student

A non-traditional student is one who has been out of school for a minimum of five years prior to enrolling at CSU. A one-day Adult Re-Entry Seminar and an Adult Re-Entry course (CSUS 1105 Learning to Learn: Adult Re-Entry) are available to non-traditional students wishing to explore the possibility of attending college.

Non-traditional students entering Columbus State University without SAT scores must take the COMPASS examination in order to determine whether they need learning support courses in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Students over the age of 40 are exempt from the wellness requirement. They should take 3 hours from other areas to make up for it.

See the Adult Re-Entry Program and the Adult Learning Resource Center .
