UUndeclared MajorsUndeclared majors are students who are not ready to declare a major when they enroll at CSU. These students should take only advisor-approved core curriculum courses until they are certain of their major. Students who are undeclared are advised in the Center for Academic Advising located in Woodall Hall, Room 104. Advisors may encourage students who are undeclared to enroll in ITDS 2735: Life and Career Planning to assist with the decision-making process of selecting a major. The Center for Academic Advising (706-562-1751) The Center for Academic Advising serves as a central resource for students to gather information about academic programs and opportunities across campus. The Center for Academic Advising is open to all students, but specifically seeks to serve: The Center for Academic Support and Student Retention (706-568-2330), located in Tucker Hall, provides • tutorial services for many core curriculum courses, academic advising for students assigned to the Department of Basic Studies, career counseling for University College students, and The Center for International Education provides services for international students, students interested in international education and those who seek a fresh cultural experience through study abroad. The Honors Program provides significant challenges and opportunities to enrich an exceptional student's education, taking the educational experience beyond the ordinary. The Honors Program strives to create a community of scholars and to simulate involvement in campus and community activities. Admission criteria for freshmen or sophomores already enrolled at Columbus State University include: The Servant Leadership Program is designed to build a community of future servant leaders though study, experiential learning, self-awareness, modeling, and mentoring. Each year, a limited number of full-time entering freshmen are selected to receive stipends. These students take a two semester-hour seminar their first semester and a one-semester-hour seminar during each successive semester of their college careers. Additionally, they participate in practical leadership experiences, mentoring, and community service. Projects, retreats, shadowing and interning with exemplary leaders will further enhance students' leadership education and development. Non-stipend students may also elect to participate. The Writing Center, located in Woodall Hall 113, is a facility where CSU students may work on their writing assignments with trained and knowledgeable Peer Writing Consultants in a relaxed and comfortable setting.
