Fall 2008-Spring 2009 Faculty Writing Fellowship, Grant, & Reassignment Time Announcements
In support of Columbus State University’s Quality Enhancement Plan, “Writing the Solution: Steps Toward Developing Competent and Professional Student Writers,” the Faculty Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning is pleased to support the following programs during the upcoming semester. These programs are aimed at assisting faculty in their efforts to use writing as a means of improving student writing in their courses. Please see the submission deadline and a link for full announcement of all programs listed below.
Faculty Writing Fellowships - The deadline for submission is August 4 , 2008. Click on the link for a full description of the fellowship announcement.
Faculty Writing Grants - The are 2 deadlines for submission. Fall submissions are due August 4, 2008. Spring submissions are due October 20, 2008. Click on the link for a full description of the grant announcement.
Reassignment Time - The deadline for submission is August 28, 2008. Click on the link for a full description of the reassignment time announcement.

Friday, February 29, 2008 -- Faculty Center held an Open House from 1:00p.m until 3:00 p.m.
Thursday, February 28, 2008 -- Faculty Center held a Faculty Forum at the River Park Campus. The presentation provided attendees an overview of programs that are offered.
Tuesday, February 26, 2008 -- Deadline to submit essays for the Second Annual QEP Award for Outstanding English 1101 and 1102 Essay. Please send submissions via paper and electronically to Dr. Robert Cummings, Director of First Year Composition, in Woodall 143, and via email to cummings_robert1@colstate.edu. Saturday, March 15, 2008 -- Deadline to submit nominations for Outstanding Teacher of Writing Awards. Please send submissions to Jim Owen in the Faculty Center via mail or email.

Thursday, April 3, 2008 - Faculty Forum will take place in the Davidson Student Center Room 256 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Please come join us and receive information regarding programs that are being offered to faculty. The participants in this year's fellowship, grant, and reassign time programs will be on hand to share their experiences.
Thursday , April 10, 2008 - Chris Anson will be on campus offering two 3 hour workshops on writing. The first workshop will be from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon and the other session will begin at 1:00 p.m. and continue until 4:00 p.m.
Thursday, April 17, 2008 --1st Annual Celebration of Student Writing Fair will take place in the Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m.The theme is "Beyond Papers".
