Faculty Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning

The Faculty Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning opened in Fall 2007. We are located in the basement of Richards Hall, Rooms 001, 002, 004, and 004B. We have just opened our doors; we are still working on staffing; and we do not have all of our furniture in place. We do have programs that are gearing up in the fall. Faculty, please watch your e-mail for notices from Jim Owen or Robert Cummings about grants, fellowships, workshops, and book discussion groups.

The initial focus of the Faculty Center is Columbus State University’s Quality Enhancement Plan: “Writing the Solution: Steps toward Developing Competent and Professional Student Writers.” This plan is a faculty initiative: writing was chosen as a critical learning need on our campus by faculty and students. The Faculty Center’s staff seeks to foster dialogues that bring together faculty members from different disciplines and allow them to share their ideas, so that we all continue to hone our skills and develop ourselves as teachers.
